CAls collaborative funding opportunities

Application Guidelines

Individuals or groups seeking CALS Collaborative Funding must submit a proposal for each program or activity. This funding opportunity is intended to support speakers, symposia, ongoing group projects, or other events that would be of interest to the broader community addressed by the Center for American Literary Studies. It is expected that CALS Collaborative Funding will be in addition to, or a complement to, other funding sources. Awards usually range from $100-500, although larger awards may be possible.

Proposals must include:

  1. A cover page identifying the sponsoring individual or group, the title of the program, contact information for all involved (including proposed guests), and the amount of funding requested;
  2. A full description of the proposed event, including its projected significance, audience, and outcome;
  3. Evidence of other departmental, institutional, and/or individual support for the event; and
  4. A budget of proposed total expenses, detailing the amount requested from CALS.

Applications will be considered by the Director and by members of the CALS Advisory Board.

Recipients of CALS Collaborative Funding are required to acknowledge the Center for American Literary Studies in all promotional material and related publications.
